The Rainforest World Music Festival is a unique festival that brings together on the same stage renowned world musicians from all continents and indigenous musicians from the interiors of Borneo.

With the rainforest at the Sarawak Cultural Village as the backdrop, you will be enveloped by the sweet sounds of nature and ethnic music from talented musicians – both dancing to the same rhythm of the forest.

Performers and fans flock from around the world and participate in musical workshops or they can just lay back and enjoy the evening concerts. The afternoons are usually scheduled with informative workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts.

The festival site also sets up a variety of food and drink stalls, an arts and crafts area as well as a counter for festival memorabilia, Sarawak souvenirs and CDs by the performing artists, all this contributing to a fun filled, wholesome festival experience. World Music plus a country fair atmosphere in the midst of lush greenery!

The Rainforest World Music Festival, a not-to-be-missed occasion, guarantees a smashing time in the heart of the Borneo Jungle!

Where to go
You can head for the picturesque 17-acre Sarawak Cultural Village tucked on the foothills of Mount Santubong. It is 35km away from Kuching city, which is only 45 minutes drive. This award-winning venue showcases fascinating cultural heritage also dubbed as the "Living Museum". As the name suggests, there are people staying at the display houses leading daily routines.

Winner of the Heritage & Culture PATA Gold Award
The Rainforest World Music Festival is winner of the Heritage and Culture PATA Gold Award 2006. It is now tradition that there will be daytime workshops followed by evening outdoor shows on all three days.
The festival will have a total of 19 bands. Each of the bands will have the opportunity to play at least once on main stage, while most will be taking part in the various workshops, some of which would be interactive ones.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
 

Ticket purchases:

  1. except pursuant to event postponement or cancellation.  All sales are final.

  2. NO replacement of ticket(s) if lost, destroyed or stolen.

  3. Children ticket holders must be able to produce evidence of their age.

  4. Organiser reserves the right without refund or compensation to refuse admission to or remove from the premises any person whose conduct is disorderly or unbecoming.

  5. The organiser may add, withdraw or substitute artistes and/or vary advertised programmes, event times and audience capacity without prior notice.
    The organiser may use the ticket holder's image or likeness in any live or recorded video display photograph or picture.

  6. No audio or video recording of the artistes' performance is allowed unless authorized by the organiser.

  7. The ticket holder agrees to submit to any search for any prohibited item including but not limited to weapons, controlled, dangerous and illegal substances.

  8. The organiser may postpone, cancel, interrupt or stop the event due to adverse weather, dangerous situations or any other causes beyond his reasonable control.

  9. Strictly no outside food & drinks, and recording devices are permitted.

  10. Tickets can be arranged for venue collection during event with proper verification of credit card & any form of identification card, ie NRIC/passport.

Free Copy of RWMF Souvenir Book:

      1.  Limited promotion to 1st 500 customers who purchased 2 of 3-day Adult passes for  
          RWMF 2008.
     2.  Promotion applicable to customers who purchase the RWMF 2008 tickets via phone
          booking or internet booking thru TicketCharge only.
     3.  Voucher will be given to these 500 customers and one customer entitle to one book
          only.
     4.  Redemption of book is available from 11 - 13 July 2008 @ Sarawak Cultural
          Village only.  The Voucher is not valid after the redemption period.
     5.  Original voucher MUST BE PRESENTED and proper verification is required.
     6.  NO replacement of voucher if lost, destroyed or stolen.
    7. The voucher is not redeemable for cash in whole or part.
 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The Rainforest World Music Festival Organising Committee (Organiser), Sarawak Cultural Village (Venue Owner), their agents, employees and volunteers shall not be liable for any death, personal injury (unless such death or personal injury was caused by the negligence of the Organiser, the Venue Owner, or its agents and employees), loss or damage however caused while in the venue nor are they liable for any complaints, claims, refund, or exchange for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation, cancellation or postponement of shows and/or performance.
